Kerkouche directs the Créteil and Val-de-Marne National Choreographic
Centre while developing contemporary dance with his EMKA company,
challenging stylistic boundaries in an aesthetic fusion of techniques and
influences. Portrait is a living fresco of the family universe, where contrasting
and complementary individualities evolve to the mesmerising tempo of an
electro score. This choreography sets the opposing forces and attractions
that make up the family choir to rhythm: a shared universe in which we either
flourish or from which we try to escape in order to better express ourselves.
