Edition 2023

The entire programme is an invitation to travel, a period of celebration and gathering, where the works of the 27 invited companies each represent fruitful stopovers, alongside the meetings, exchanges and reflections proposed by choreographers, dancers, company directors, researchers and pedagogues.

Over the course of nearly three weeks, the great wealth of national and international choreographic creation will reveal itself, with particular attention paid to the opening up and crossings of stage disciplines. Youth will enjoy pride of place in Cannes with the gathering of 70 young people from national higher dance schools : the professionals of tomorrow.

New premières, iconic repertoire pieces and emerging companies will all be on the agenda, alongside the launch of MOV’IN Cannes, an international dance film competition open to all lovers of film and the body in motion.

For another year running, this festival offers the opportunity to practise with dance workshops and masterclasses, as well as meetings on the edge of the stage, round tables and film screenings – all promising to be packed full of surprises and excitement.

It is thanks to the collaboration and commitment of our precious partners in the Côte d’Azur region that we offer you this journey. Thank you very much to all ! Thank you to Brigitte Lefèvre who has worked to develop the event and whose artistic direction I have the great joy of following.

Thanks to all the teams of the Palais des Festivals, to the Ministry of Culture and to the local authorities supporting the festival, and in particular to the city of Cannes, as well as our supporting foundations and patrons.

Didier Deschamps, Artistic Director
