Description
In this open-to-all dance session, the kinetic energy of the movements takes root in the collective imagination and reinvents the conventions of one of the oldest forms of dance.
Is it a performance? A party? A promenade? Pierre Rigal’s 2025 creation continues the explorations of his previous works — Même, which combined multiple stage practices, and Public, which made the audience itself the material of the performance — pushing further the limits of stage experience.
In this ritual-like celebration, dance, music, and storytelling come together. The title refers to the universal form of circular dance and the multiple gestural dialogues this ancestral practice inspires. It also evokes the vibrational and circulatory effects on all participants. Alongside rhythms inherited from folklore, the piece integrates contemporary electronic, techno, house, and trance music, performed live by Gwenaël Drapeau and Mélanie Chartreux. Unlike traditional theater setups, R·onde·s favors atypical venues, allowing everyone, alongside the eight performers, to join the collective circle and spontaneously reinvent their own ritual in a rare moment of shared delight.
