Description
It was love at first sight for two reasons that led to what the author describes as a challenge: to create a Bolero of his own by questioning a key dance form, from loop to ellipse.
Mickaël Le Mer never ceases to go beyond the frameworks and codes of hip-hop dance, developing a style that is both poetic and sensitive. In this world premiere, his 9 performers will whirl their dizzying, chiselled dance to Maurice Ravel's famous Bolero.

With this new Boléro, he has reserved a great moment of emotion and spirituality for Cannes, still marked by the dynamism of hip-hop dance. - Company and choreographerFrom 1996, Mickaël Le Mer trained with the hip-hop company S'Poart, where he created In Vivo in 2007. He is now its artistic director. As an associate artist with a number of companies, he has established his own style in pieces with a highly controlled scenic space, such as Rock It Daddy in 2013, Rouge in 2014, and Les Yeux Fermés in 2022, based on the work of painter Pierre Soulage. He defends a loose hip-hop, sometimes abstract but always open to others.
