Cannes is the city of Cinema and Dance! Each year, a call for dance films is sent out to producers, directors, choreographers and international dance film festivals.

APPLICATION CRITERIA
Whether you’re a choreographer, director, dancer or a lover of movement and image, the MOV’IN CANNES competition is for you!
Criteria to be met:
✔️ Short films must be no longer than 10 minutes.
✔️ The work must use dance and movement as a narrative or abstract device, documentary or imaginary.
✔️ All French and international productions are eligible, provided they are submitted between November 20 and May 10, 2025.
Choreographic and cinematographic originality and quality will be decisive for selection.
SELECTION PROCEDURES
Works received following the call for entries will be submitted for selection.
✔️ students enrolled in the BTS Audiovisuel Cannes Carnot, in the educational structures of the Université Côte d’Azur (ESRA, PNSD Rosella Hightower, Villa Arson, Licence Arts du spectacle – EUR CREATES) and the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Paris.
✔️ from MOV’IN Cannes partner institutions and festivals: CND- center national de la danse (Paris), Cinedans (Amsterdam), Cinédanse (Montreal), Dança em Foco (Rio de Janeiro), Inshadow Festival (Lisbon), Light Moves Festival (Limerick, Ireland), Physical Cinema Festival (Reykjavik), POOL Movement Art Film Festival (Berlin), San Francisco Dance Film Festival and Suzanne Dellal Center (Tel Aviv).
The films selected for the competition will be announced on July 15, 2025.
Price list
On Thursday,November 27, 2025, the 20 shortlisted films will be presented to an audience of enthusiasts and professionals to award the following prizes:
🎥 LE GRAND PRIX MOV’IN CANNES will offer a creative residency at Cannes Bastide Rouge.
🎥 LE PRIX DU MINISTÈRE DE LA CULTURE will award a grant for the creation of a new work.
🎥 LE PRIX DES ÉTUDIANTS will invite an artist to conduct a masterclass at Campus G. Méliès in 2026.
🎥 LE PRIX DU PUBLIC will be screened in 2026 as part of the program at Cineum, the event’s cinema partner.
The winning films will be broadcast on the numeridanse.com platform.
