INDES GALANTES

A cinematographic itinerary is proposed in connection with the Festival’s programming, the opportunity to deepen his knowledge around major figures of dance

INDES GALANTES

Documentary film by Philippe Béziat – 2020, France, 1h48

It’s a first for 30 hip-hop, krump, break, voguing dancers… A premiere for the director Clément Cogitore and the choreographer Bintou Dembélé. And a premiere for the Paris Opera. Through a dialogue between urban dance and lyrical singing, they reinvent together Jean-Philippe Rameau’s baroque masterpiece, Les Indes Galantes. From rehearsals to public performances, it is a human adventure and an encounter with the political stakes that we follow: can a new generation of artists today take the Bastille?
