A true icon of contemporary dance, Louise Lecavalier seeks through this solo to continue her research based on virtuosity, surpassing oneself and taking risks ... A quest for the absolute in the form of a breath-taking one-woman-show
A huge figure in contemporary dance and the nearly twenty-year muse of the Canadian company La La La Human Steps and its choreographer Edouard Lock, Louise Lacavalier has left her mark on the world through the energy of her interpretation and her duets with David Bowie , with whom she has shared the stage. In Stations, the choreographer continues her dizzying exploration of dance across four seasons and as many states of the body: fluidity, control, meditation and obsession

An undeniable success for the final edition of Brigitte Lefèvre
The spotlight is on the 23rd edition of the Cannes – Côte d’Azur France Dance Festival, a true collective success. In addition to the joy of seeing live performances, the public came in large numbers to support the artists. Brigitte Lefèvre, artistic director, wanted to honour iconic women choreographers and dancers, the pioneers, for its 4th and last edition. The programme, which was always demanding, invited 28 companies with 15 creations, including 4 world premieres, 2 French premieres and 1 European premiere. A festival that kept all its promises by offering 27 performances and was sold out despite the cancellation of 2 shows. 13,000 festival-goers were invited for a fortnight to discover all the repertoires. The event took over the whole territory thanks to the mobilisation, alongside the Palais des Festivals of Cannes, of 8 partner cultural structures: Anthéa, Antibes – Forum Jacques Prévert, Carros – Scène 55, Mougins – Théâtre de Grasse – Théâtres en Dracénie, Draguignan – Théâtre intercommunal Le Forum, Fréjus – Théâtre La Licorne Cannes – Théâtre National de Nice The first federative cultural project, initiated in 2019, is a demonstration of coordination, co-construction and exemplary mobilisation of teams and audiences.

The
History of the festival
Created in 1985 by the City of Cannes, the Dance Festival is undoubtedly one of the biggest international festivals. The creation of this Festival is part of a historic relationship between the City of Cannes and the world of Dance, thanks in particular to the dynamic created by the opening of the Center de Danse International Rosella Hightower in 1961. Since 1993, at the rate of a biennial, the event has managed to find its identity, relying on numerous creations presenting new talents from the choreographic scene and the work of major international companies.
